Plymouth Artisan Cheese

Was a steady diet of cheese the reason for Calvin Coolidge's rise to the Presidency? Having now tasted the cheese he grew up on, I'd be hard pressed to argue otherwise. Both delicious and beautifully packaged, nobody has been doing it better, and longer, than Plymouth Artisan Cheese.

The art of cheesemaking is essential to the identity of Plymouth, Vermont—not to mention a point of pride. Even Calvin Coolidge, who was born in town, has roots in this American heritage cheese tradition. It was in 1890 when old Silent Cal’s father, John (a.k.a. Stilton John) opened a cheese factory in a small building that is still home to Plymouth Artisan Cheese. Using the same recipe that the very first European settlers brought with them to the New World, Plymouth Artisan Cheese has become one of the oldest cheese purveyors in the country. The cheese is made with locally sourced raw cow’s milk from a single herd to ensure the high quality and consistency that makes this distinctive granular curd cheese truly one of a kind.

Perfect for ye ole grilled cheese sandwich you’ve been dying to make.

We're not the only ones who love them!

Plymouth Artisan Cheese has been named one of Oprah's 2015 Favorite Things and their blue cheese has been named one of the best artisanal cheeses in the country by Food & Wine. It has also won numerous gold medals from top cheese competitions in the world and was featured in The Boston Globe.
