I couldn't stop drooling while looking through Pie Lab's menu! When I found out what these guys do for the Greensboro community, I had to give it a try. Community Service aside, these pies are LEGIT! Chocolate Bourbon Pecan is a local favorite, but mine has to be the Brown Sugar Buttermilk!

Pie Lab was founded on the idea that simple things—like pie—can bring people together and spread jobs. While it started out as a pop-up experiment, Pie Lab became so popular with its Chocolate Bourbon Pecan, Brown Sugar Buttermilk and Chocolate Chess pies that it is still at its original Greensboro location and has even earned a spot on Southern Living’s “The South’s Best Pies.” Today, while Pie Lab operates day-to-day as a cafe and bakery, it has become even more so a real community space, where local underprivileged youth can learn about business development or train for jobs in hospitality, and where local businesses can host workshops or events.

On their walls, they quote David Mamet who famously wrote, ”We must have pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.” And with these words, we tell you: You MUST have Pie Lab’s Pie!

We're not the only ones who love them!

Pie Lab has been featured in the New York Times, Food & Wine, Wall Street Journal, Southern Living, KCRW’s Good Food podcast, Fast Company, Bon Appetit and more.
