Kreuz Market

Legendary Sausage from the "BBQ Capital of Texas"

There are no forks and no sauce, but plenty to love at this legendary Lockhart BBQ joint, famed for its sublime sausages and delicious smoked meats. Founded in 1900 by Charles Kreuz as a meat market and grocery store, not much has changed since they smoked their first cut of meat. Customers would shop at Kreuz for their standard grocery items, as well as their barbecue and sausage, which was wrapped in butcher paper and meant to be eaten with your hands and a pocket knife- never a fork and certainly not with any BBQ sauce. If you visit Kreuz today, you won’t be able to stock up on the items on your grocery list, but you can still get delicious sausage served without a fork or sauce!

We're not the only ones who love them!

Kreuz Market is one of Texas' most renowned BBQ pit joints. Since opening well over 100 years ago, they've been featured on The Food Network, The Cooking Channel, The Travel Channel and in Texas Monthly.
