The Northwest's King of Chowder

There's nothing like good chowder. I'm talking about piping hot comfort food at it's best, with chunks of Pacific seafood caught in the local waters. And when it come's to west coast chowder, there is none better than Washington state legend Ivar's.

Just like people, some of the best places have a rather briny history. Ivar’s is no exception. What once started as Seattle’s first aquarium, owner Ivar Haglund quickly transitioned the space on Seattle’s Pier 54 into a seafood restaurant after noticing his patrons were leaving hungry. Never one to miss an opportunity, Ivar served seafood caught in the local waters while staging events that ranged from educational to just plain wacky like octopus wrestling. Need we say more? After nearly 80 years in business, Ivar’s is still producing the finest clam chowder found anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. New England and Manhattan… this ain’t your party!

We're not the only ones who love them!

Ivar's is a Pacific Northwest institution, having been featured across many media outlets over their long history and are credited with helping to shape Seattle's historic waterfront as it's known today.
