Galette des Rois

Galette des Rois is a flaky pastry with a rich, frangipane filling of ground almonds and sugar. This traditional French pastry is made to celebrate Epiphany. Although it means “Kings’ cake” in French, it’s totally different from the typical Mardi Gras frosting-covered ring-shaped cake, though both are eaten the same time of year.
Inside the cake is a ceramic figurine baked into the filling; tradition has it that whoever finds the “fève” in their slice is king for the day!

Use And Care

  • Cake comes fully baked in a well-packed, Epicerie Boulud box.
  • Best enjoyed at room temperature or slightly warmed
  • Store in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
