Use And Care

  • Allen Brothers ships all meats raw on dry ice
  • Turkeys may take 48-60 hours to fully thaw in the refrigerator.
  • A general guideline is 5-6 hours per pound.
  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Remove giblets, rinse turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry.
  • Make your favorite stuffing recipe and fill cavity or use large chopped onions, carrots, celery and fresh herbs.
  • Place on a roasting rack in a roasting pan and tuck wings under turkey. Brush with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Roast until skin is golden brown and crisp, occasionally basting with juices that collect in the pan, to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F.**
  • When done, breast meat will be white (not pink) inside. (A 12-pound turkey takes about 4 hours.)
